Ruth Tara has over 21 years of experience as an in-home private personal trainer.

She holds many specialty certifications including

  • joint and back rehabilitation
  • weight-loss counseling
  • strength training
  • post-rehabilitation fitness
  • national certification by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America

Ruth began designing and equipping custom home gyms in 1999. Home Gym Design was incorporated in early 2001.

She has appeared regularly on national television and local radio as a fitness expert. For over 6 years, Ruth authored a monthly exercise column for a Westchester County-based women's publication. She currently writes about health and fitness for a variety of national trade magazines and is an active public speaker.

Ruth's competitive athletic career includes gymnastics, women's fast-pitch softball, volleyball and track and field. From 1993 through 1998 she competed as a powerlifter and natural body-builder.

Ruth is a graduate of the University of Southern California and resides in Westchester County, NY.
